February 14, 2015 -- LOS ANGELES -- Floorplan, a start-up rug company intent on getting better quality area rugs into the homes of Americans, launched its online store and 30 Days.30% Off. Launch Sale today. The site offers a well-edited selection of rugs that are knotted or woven by hand, using time-tested techniques that have been passed down for generations in Turkey, Pakistan, Iran and India.

“People are tired of buying what they think gives them great design and great quality, only to see their purchase quickly deteriorate under normal use,” says Erin Eisinger, co-founder and CEO.  “We want to bring greater transparency to the rug market -- where short-life construction techniques and inflated prices have made it difficult for consumers to choose rugs with confidence. We know consumers can get a better value for their dollar, and we intend to make it easier for them to do so.”

FloorplanRugs.com is currently stocked with timeless designs that work well in traditional, modern and contemporary interiors alike. Most are named according to the regions in which they originate and depict the plants, wild life and natural dyes native to the area.  Kazak and Turkmen rugs are staples in any tribal collection and are marked by bold, geometric patterns in bright blues and an array of reds that are common to the Caucasus. Hereke, Herati, Mahal, and others contain finely detailed blooming flowers and vines of deep reds, navy and earth tones that reflect the aesthetic and skill of the master weavers in Iran and Turkey. And, of course, no traditional showing would be complete without the large, blossoming flowers of the Indian Agra in a bold combination of rich reds and muted browns, golds and creams. The site has a wide selection of rugs accented by Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year: Marsala, a warm shade of wine that is both trendy and timeless as a mainstay color in rugs for centuries.

“I’ve sifted through thousands of traditional and tribal rugs and iterations since I was a kid,” said Mehmet Bozatli, co-founder and COO. “As I source these rugs today, I not only look for a unique or special element in the design, but I also directly work with rug makers to balance the quality of yarn, dyes and knotting technique in order to bring the best value to our customers.”

FP Consultation is a service where customers get five hand-picked rug recommendations based on an uploaded photo of their space and answers to a brief questionnaire. Using the service grants customers access to FP Reserve, a much larger inventory than what’s shown on the site that includes a well-edited selection of contemporary and abstract designs. Custom sizes and designs are available through FP Consultation as well.
